I want to be by the sea

#FWF Free Write Friday: Time & Place Scenario

You’re young. You are standing in front of a shop window watching something on the black and white television inside. A woman grabs your hand and runs down the street, pulling you along…

This week’s prompt by Kellie Elmore

_____________________________________________

I am not scared as the unknown woman pulls me away from the shop.  I have a feeling that something ominous is about to happen.  As we walk further the surrounding street starts to disappear and we are now walking into a beautiful long sandy beach with calm, clear blue sea.  The sun is shinning, it’s warm and there is just a slight breeze.

She wants me to seat and look inside myself.  What do you see in your future, what do you want?

Why do you bring me here?  You know that my dream is to live by the sea –  facing the beach and the pine tree forests behind.  Why are you showing me the future and show me that I will never achieve that?  Instead I am spending my life in a cold and dark country away from the beautiful sand and blue of the sea.

I want to go back to the time of innocence, of black and white tv, of playing outside, of when I believed that what I dreamed would be reality…

  1. I’m glad you again joined those that respond to Kellie’s prompt. I’m not a writer, but I enjoy the freedom of letting my words speak when I don’t feel I can out loud. Very nice, I hope you keep posting.

  2. Welcome back to FWF, Lena. Let me just say that there is a softness in your words that is so very beautiful. Although there is a hesitant feeling to this, you manage to fill the page with vivid and dreamy imagery with your description. I say, don’t hold back… keep writing. You have a gift and your thoughtfulness in how you place your words is refreshing. I adore this.

Don’t be afraid to let your pen roam and explore. You have nothing to fear because you are a writer at heart and if you let go… amazing things will happen on your page. Keep writing. And I hope you will continue to share with us at FWF. ♥

  3. There are many times I wish I could go back when things were so much simpler and time stretched out before me. Loved this. 🙂
